I took Algebra 1 and passed with flying colors. Geometry… Bs and Cs. I passed Algebra 2 with flying colors. Those three courses were taken in high school. Now, I’m a senior in high school and taking all of my classes at a community college. I’m going into nursing, but I can’t get in unless I pass college algebra with a C or higher. We have to use a program called MyMathLab, which really frustrates me, because I end up doing one section set up to 5 times before I quit. My math class is also a hybrid class. We meet two days a week for an hour and 15 minutes. That is NOT the class I wanted, because I can’t teach myself algebra. I’m half way through the semester with the lowest B possible. Should I withdraw and save my transcript from a C or worse, or should I keep trying until the end?
Does your college have a math lab with tutors? When I took college algebra I passed with flying colors BECAUSE I went to the free tutoring that was given at the college. Look into this and go to them asap.
Also I think you shouldn’t withdraw while you have a B. This is the time to be optimistic in your studies. It is a big step compared to high school. To be successful in college you must be responsible in your studies and make it a priority. Don’t start your college life with already a W in the first or second semester. Be tough, be optimistic, and more importantly take the time to study and be successful! Go to the tutors and get that A!
