We live in southern California and I was wondering if there are any families/students who can give us info about these two private prep schools.
Fairmont Prep in Anaheim,CA and Sage Hills in Newport Beach.
How is the student profile in each school?
How is the parent profile in each school?
I see that both of them offer lots of AP classes:If they are offering 30APs,do you have to take most of them?
How much drinking/partying is involved?
What colleges do they usually matriculate?
Anything I need to know that is not public ?
Are they willing to listen to the parents/students for feedback?
How good are they teaching the APs?
I don’t know too much about each school, but I thought I would volunteer what I have heard. Fairmont Prep has quite a few international students (many from China especially). Sage Hill’s curriculum is most likely more rigorous than Fairmont Prep’s, which doesn’t mean it’s better but just that they move more quickly and the students need to be able to keep up. Regarding your other questions, I would encourage you to check out niche or other websites that would have college info and reviews. You might also consider reaching out to the schools themselves since they probably have parents you can contact regarding your questions. That might help you to get a feel for the schools as well. This forum probably doesn’t have too many (or any) parents with kids at Fairmont Prep or Sage Hill.
@michelletanner080 Why not consider St. Margaret’s in SJC? I have many friends that went there and their programs are excellent and their outcomes also very impressive.
