Fall 2011 Applicants ?

Fellow Indians, sup ?

Just started this thread to get a hang of the number of applicants from India, and the universities popular amongst Indians.

Im a senior high school student, and will be applying to Dartmouth, Washington University at St. Louis, Amherst, Middlebury and Vassar.

But isnt Dartmouth incredibly cold?
Which school, btw?

It is. But that is pretty irrelevant to me. :)

I’ll be applying to the school of Undergraduate Arts and Sciences.

Do you not believe in safeties?

HAha, I can see what you’re getting at. Actually, I already have an admission offer from a rather renowned university, so I’ll only be considering the US if I get into any of these, or Princeton, which I chose to avoid putting down earlier.

Which “rather renowned university” are you referring to?

hey, just wanted to, how do u have an admission offer before even the 2010-2011 application cycle opens?

NUS?

10char

Woow.

Are you on a gap year?

Just apply to HYPSM and stuff. You’ve got NUS anyway.

There’s a user called sushmita who went to SUNY Buffalo instead of NUS because she got a full ride there.

@PrincetonDreams
Impressive! =) Yeah, it is NUS.

No I’m not on a gap year, I’m in senior high school. But I’m a scholar, so I already have the offer in my hands. It’s a scholarship offer from NUS which covers everything and includes a more than generous monthly allowance. So applying to SUNY Buffalo is out of question. But there are a few other LACs that I’m considering, which are not on the list above.

Just curious, why isn’t anyone else talking about their college list ? ;)

^ What’s “impressive”? :)

I think our usernames got confused haha.

ani does SUNY even give out full rides to internationals? It is a state school isn’t it?

NUS already gave you admission? How come? :</p>

PM this user called “sushmita” on CC. She’ll tell you everything. I believe she had a full ride at NUS as well!

@debarghya: there’s something known as a Presidential Scholarship and I think sushmita got it by virtue of her SAT score (2350!)

PrincetonDreams: Impressive, your guess that it’s NUS. Are you also applying for the class of 2015 ?

Aniruddhc: I am not enrolled in NUS yet, but I have the offer to accept the scholarship once i finish my A Levels. :)

Hi, I did the ib and was wondering how many of you did that as well?
I am thinking of Vassar ED and Brandeis, Bard, Sarah Lawrence, Grinnell and some other places.
hey princeton33, you must be a singapore airlines scholar no? my brother was one too and he chose to go to Vassar.

LACs for me too!

Amherst, Williams and Vassar on regular.

Those of you looking for full-rides (or generous financial/merit aid) for internationals should consider the midwestern-LACs-especially Grinnell and Macalester. Both have around 11% of their student body coming from overseas, and Grinnell, in particular, has a large endowment that they use to buy diversity on their campus.

M’s Mom-Thank you for mentioning that.I have already considered the two, interviewed with Mac just for practice, rejected it for the cold.I am ,however, considering Grinnell seriously.
It would be great it you could suggest some more colleges with warmer weather :)

Emory for warmer weather, pix.

Thanks mum ;)
