General Comments, scholarship chances, status info, going to USC…?:
Didn’t see very many declined ones on here, so I figured I would do one! My application is eerily similar to the post above by PeanutButtah, so I guess it just goes to show that it’s very very competitive! Congrats to everyone who got in, I’m devastated I didn’t get accepted but I’m telling myself I probably wouldn’t have been able to afford it anyways, and that someone who really deserves it got the spot I was competing for. I will be attending Chapman’s film program with a Chancellor’s (20,000) scholarship. Good luck to everyone!

Side Comment: I got an e-mail on one of the first days of March asking about my AP Scores, since I self-studied Calc. I don’t know if that’s relevant, but they told me to e-mail them a copy of my scores for verification purposes, which I did less than an hour after I got the message.

General Comments, scholarship chances, status info, going to USC…?: I don’t know what went wrong. Probably my essays did not show enough interest in USC, though USC has clearly become my top choices since I sent the application in December. Thinking that essays did not exemplify who I am, as peers thought me a “very good fit” at USC. Plan to appeal to USC and UCLA. If unsuccessful, choosing between UCSD (Biochem), U of W (pre-engineering), Purdue(BME), and UCI(BME w/ pre-med emphasis). In the end, trying to adhere to the saying that “it doesn’t matter where you go, but what you do when you get there”

General Comments, scholarship chances, status info, going to USC…?: No scholarship, though I’m holding out hope for maybe a small one in late April, as well as a financial aid package which will bring costs down. USC is my dream school, and I really had no idea whether or not I’d get in. I’ve had some pretty crappy grades due to illness, which I made clear in my application, and being accepted shows they really do look at things holistically. I’m willing to work my butt off to be able to afford this school.
