Fall 2015 Transfer

For busy adults who need to make major life decisions and are juggling military, civilian, and academic careers… time is incredibly value.

i fully understand that, i am one of those adults(not military), i agree that it is ridiculous how late they respond, given that other schools responded in march or april or earlier. all i am saying is that we not pester them, let them do their job. their time line is out of your control, just relax, its two days away.

also, thank you for your service

I guess it’s fair that they don’t notify until this week, as it said on their admissions website “late May to early June,” or or something like that. But it is also true that most schools notify transfers much earlier. This puts a lot of students in the position of having to put down non-refundable deposits (not to mention, for many, housing deposits) on another school that they have already heard from, just to ensure they have somewhere to go in the fall. Sigh.

@revmatching Are you currently serving? If so, will you be attending GW while active or are you getting out? Either way, feel free to shoot me a private message and I can set you up with a great set of folks at GW if you get accepted. I was a student veteran while there and was actively involved in GW Vets- a really great group of students that were soldiers/sailors/airmen/marines in a previous life.

@nhuffer PM inbound

@revmatching Same boat, man. A/D here, as well. Luckily I’m in the DC area so it’s not too difficult to pick my stuff up and move. I just got my separation orders yesterday. Hopefully GWU releases their decisions this week, because I was only waitlisted at GU.

@NHuffer Do you mind if I drop you a line, too? I’m looking to get involved in both greek life and a student veteran organization while I am there.

@AJCoastie I’m a “nasty girl” who spent most of the past 3 years activated for deployment and DLI, but will still be in the Guard for a hot minute. I’m living in CA now.

@revmatching I’ve been A/D Coast Guard (if you couldn’t tell from the name) for a little over 6 years now. Looking forward to freedom! Good luck, man. I hope to see you there.

@AJCoastie Sure, drop me a line! I always look out for fellow vets. GW has a great group for vets, too, so you’ve got that to look forward to if you get in!

I just got accepted!

When/How did you hear? I’m guessing it was today, but at what time?

@revmatching I got an email at 6pm and said that my decision was available to see at the GW Admissions Activity Center website, which is where you check your application. I kinda had an idea earlier to that when I logged into my GWEB account at around 1pm and saw this http://gyazo.com/8af931aad3dd656af6bf0d7f9574ee7c , which I didnt have before so I had a feeling I was in since then.

@LeoRotten Sounds good, and congratulations… which program did you apply to?

@revmatching I applied to the School of Engineering and Applied Science, after walking around the new building that opened this spring for engineering and science I knew I had to apply! I’m glad I got in, good luck to you!

I got in today too! Same notification as LeoRotten. Elliott School of International Affairs!

did anyone else religiously check their application status page? i did and just saw that the check list has disappeared… hoping that is a good sign

@transferfor2015 It just changed now?? I’ve been checking nonstop. Congrats @Cloudy206 … That’s where I applied too.

I’ve been checking religiously as well and my check list disappeared too. I got so scared when I read the “we regret to inform you” part! Anxiously waiting…

yeah rev it changed… but it just took the checklist away, thats all hoping for good news

How did you log onto your GWEB If you can’t access that until you’ve payed a deposit?
