Anyone here waiting around for a transfer decisions from GW? The deadline for apps is tomorrow I believe. So hopefully within a few weeks they will start sending out decisions.

I, too, have applied to George Washington for 2009 Fall transfer admission. Though my application, letters of recommendation, etc. were sent in a while ago, I over-nighted my transcripts and they just arrived today. However, my GWU account is still "incomplete" as it has yet to recognize receiving my transcripts (I know they arrived as I have delivery confirmations on them). Hopefully GWU will update this to give me a piece of mind.

Anyways, I am very excited about the possibility of attending GWU. Hopefully they will get decisions out in a timely manor.

I hope so as well. The website says it could take a few weeks before they update the status of documents received, so hopefully you will get a decision by that time. Where else have you applied Honus?

So far I’ve applied to:

Beloit College
Boston University
George Washington University
New York University

I’m also applying to Kenyon; my application isn’t finished, however.

Which schools have you applied to?

I applied to GW, Georgetown, NYU

but I have little hope for the last two

I applied to Melbourne earlier this year and was rejected, I have applied to U of Miami, GW’s Elliot School of Intl Affairs and NYU’s CAS.

Got accepted to Miami but it is not really my first choice, would prefer GW. I would just go to UCSD but I am so tired of San Diego and also I don’t feel like waiting around until January to start.

Does anyone know when GWU will start sending out admittance notifications? My current status is “under review”.

Same here. I read on GW’s info board that last year they came out in mid May but I also read on that same post that they will be starting the notification process in late April. I’m just going to assume it will be a good 3-4 weeks more.

my friend applied to GW. I hope she is reading this thread!

Last year they notified people the 27thish i heard. good luck to everyone! the waiting game is hard sometimes but it wont be too much longer.

I recently read, through GWU’s message-board, that notifications will be sent mid-late May. The wait is agonizing. The upside is all of the colleges I’m applying to will send notifications at a similar time. This won’t leave me waiting to send in a deposit because I haven’t received a notification from a different institution.

I realize that at most places financial aid for transfer is rather limited, does anyone have any information regarding GWUs? I am especially interested in need-based aid.

thats weird because their web site said may 1st.

You’re certainly correct. These two sources contradict each other; I like the sound of a May 1st date better. Maybe I’ll call admissions tomorrow.

Hey Honus did you call? Any new info? Hopefully just one more week!

Called school today and they said still onether 2-3 weeks! That sucks!

So that means the first rejection/acceptance letters should come on May 1st and the last ones around the 3rd/last week of May I guess.

Anyone applying to Elliott?

I also applied to Elliot.

Is George Washington School of Business any good? I want to go into Finance, but GW seems more like a Political Science school

accepted with 55 credits yay ^_^

Well, I just logged onto my GWU application status page and go the following message:

“Congratulations on your admission to GW! We look forward to welcoming you as a member of The George Washington University community.”

I’m currently ecstatic! My admissions packet is apparently in the mail and I can’t wait to see what all it includes.
