15 credits.

Is it hard? Too much? I want to get a minor in chemistry for potential work in getting my masters in Chemistry. If I don’t take Organic, then I would lose a chance on doing it again.

@MYOS1634 can probably tell you. I’d be hesitant to take chemistry and physics together.

Do-able, but very time consuming.

You are only taking four classes so not bad at all. You could add another class. Kiddo had a similar schedule and with another engineering class.

How well did you do with calculus 1?

Taking organic chemistry and calculus2 together would likely be sufficient since both are weedout.

Can you take calculus, organic chemistry, archeology, and an easy 1 or 2 credit class? (Or an easy 3-credit class?)

I could take just organic, calculus and archaeology. Although I will behind.

This coming fall and spring semester will only be taking my prerequisites for my major. Sadly, physics is required for my major. Although I was thinking to hold off and don’t take my SUNY general education until fall 2018. You think I should do that? I original had 12 credits, but advisor suggested to take another clsss like a gen eds @MYOS1634

I did pretty well my second time I retook calculus 1! I ended up with a B, so that’s good! I’ve been practicing and getting better each day! Recently I was able to have the opportunity to sit in as a free student for calculus 2 during the summer session at my local community college. I already took organic 1 but I didn’t get a passing grade. So I will have some of the background knowledge when I take it again.

It’s not the number of credits, it’s how difficult they are.

My advice would be to take two easy gen eds , orgo, and either calculus or physics. Taking all three (orgo, physics, and calculus) at the same time could result in your getting low or non passing grades in one, two, or all three.

I think you said your parents are okay with your taking a bit more time as long as you work hard and succeed.

The problem is that if I hold off organic chemistry, I won’t have another chance to take it. My plan was to take calculus and physics plus two gen eds. Should I take organic 1 in the spring?

Why not take organic and either calculus or physics, plus two easy gen eds? (4+4 +3+3 credits )

Then take the rest in the spring, same deal 14 credits, and the leftover science course over the summer?

Your university certainly offers calculus 2 and Physics 1 in the spring, and either physics 2 or calculus in the summer.

So, by taking organic chemistry and one more tough class this Fall, rhen dolkiwinf through in the spring and one class in the summer you’d have orgo AND you’d be okay for your major.

I’m just not sure if I want to risk myself on taking organic chemistry in the summer. If I were to take a summer course, then I have to live in Albany for the summer because none of my local college offers physics 1 or organic in the summer. Although I may check if Syracuse university does offer it.
