@sbmamabear ours is the same. I’m wondering if @h3llom3ow is a freshman or transfer as there is mix on this thread since it is titled 2018 as opposed to class of 2022. I think they are still working on Transfers from what I’m reading on the transfer thread.
@Bean981 Have any freshmen been admitted? High stats maybe? I can only imagine that many applicants who have been admitted elsewhere might just accept somewhere else and move on. I also don’t want to forfeit enrollment and housing deposits, so perhaps it’s time to go ahead and decide. It is emotionally exhausting.
@SBMamaBear yes some freshman have been admitted. My sone was admitted but it was awhile ago not recently. Yeah I can see people moving on to other schools for sure.
Yes @SBMamaBear they did the high stats quite awhile ago. Then they have been doing transfers. Waitin for remainder of freshman admits.
Those stats must be pretty high. According to the freshman profile for the past 2 years, this school should be a “sure bet” for my son.
@h3llom3ow do you have a link to the message? My son’s just says decision pending
@SBMamaBear my son’s is the same - they did ask him to apply for honor college but he choose not to - not sure if that has any implications
Do you go through my CPP or through bronco direct for your messages? If I go through my cpp i get the one that someone referenced earlier about it has been received and it is being reviewed but if I go through bronco direct it just says application received. They have two different dates. BD is 12/5 and my CPP states 12/7. My son also never got the emails they sent and had to call in for access. This schools should have been a safe bet also but then I never trust anything anymore as UCR should have been a safe school and he was waitlisted so I am done predicting anything. I’ll stick with my paying job lol. Denied at 3 UC schools and got into 2 Cal State so far. Fullerton is off the list I beleive so it is down to CPP and SDSU. He now wants to go up and tour so I’m guessing we will be up there possibly this weekend or next so that when they finally come out with decisions he will know.
How many students applied this year?
@hvaneijk I tried looking it up but it doesnt seem to be posted that I could find. Also @sbmamabear I tried calling this morning and i"m guessing they are getting flooded with calls as I was on hold for at least 20 min and no one ever answered. They do now have a recorded message that all decisions should be made by 4/15 so hopefully only 11 more days to wait. I was looking on their site and it appears they do not offer any tours on weekends does anyone know if that is correct or not? I really didnt want to have to pull him out of school but if I have to I will. Just checked out the site and the only times are either tomorrow or not until 4/24 as they are booked solid. Hmm maybe we will just go up and look around instead then.
We toured last week while on Spring Break on our own. We were able to see all the buildings that we wanted to. I don’t think you really need a guided tour unless you want to hear all of the details.
Did anyone get a email from your cal poly pomona major department, does this mean I’m going to get accepted I got Cal Poly Pomona Bound Welcome Letter From The College Of Agriculture “my major is Food Science & Technology” hopefully this means something good fingers crossed
are they the only csu that hasnt released all of their decisions?
I haven’t heard from either CPP or CSUSM, but got into CSUF
@xxsdccx it is the only one that I knew of but it appears that someone hasn’t heard from San Marcos either. @patientengineer thanks for the heads up. I figured that would probably be the case but wasnt sure if I was missing out on something.
@DanGlee What is your major? How do you feel about CSUF?
For the colleges, I think there is a lot of dust that still needs to clear.
For example S was accepted in early Feb (mechanical engineering, 4.3, 1410, in-state not local) but has been sitting on this and other acceptances (SJSU, UCSC bioengineering) until UCIrvine gave up its release pretty late in March. We just toured both this weekend, he’s leaning to UCI if I were to guess but even then, UCSD and UCD have him on a waitlist and that can be the last minute change up if it comes to fruition. I don’t envy colleges and students going through this process and without all cards in the table at one time, it makes it hard for accepted applicants to give up offers and make solid decisions. No one wants to decline prematurely and with the pros and cons of every institution weighing in, it’s not been an easy decision.
The good thing is, it all whittles down to one college, meaning in that process, you’ll see more spaces begin to free up from the colleges whose acceptance offers weren’t taken. Pick one, release several. We’re hoping that will be in our favor when it comes to getting into a reach.
@SBMamaBear I am Comp Sci. CSUF is my backup and I woudn’t have a problem going there, but I would prefer to go to CPP
@DanGlee My son is an ME major and feels exactly the same. Ok with CSUF, but prefers CPP.
Totally understand @gopherwrabet but the problem is that CPP hasnt released its decisions for non-high stat students. Not to mention there isn’t a way for those that did get accepted to decline an offer if they wanted to open up spots. We have no decision, not accepted, waitlisted or declined at this time. We just want an answer one way or another so we can make decisions based on those outcomes. When they wont even release the admissions until April 15th from one person in admissions said or as they said it could be as late as May as another one said we just want a date that we can get past this step and move on. We do not want to have to SIR with no decision from CPP as it could be a waste of money that we may potentially lose. Sure if the deposit was only $150 as some colleges are but the place we are looking at has a $400 deposit just for the SIR not to mention what the housing deposit would be. Guess those of us waiting are just beyond frustrated as this process has dragged on way too long compared to years past. Went through this 3 yrs ago with my first kid and it didnt nearly drag on as long as it has this year. Ok off my whining rant now.
