^Thats not true, that mostmid-tier schools accept them. Most medical schools are not ok with AP credits. Yes, the college will give credit, but not the medical school. You should apply to 12+ med schools, and since the majority don’t accept AP credits, I wouldn’t count on the fact that some don’t. You can’t just look at a few schools. This chart shows key schools that don’t vv

I dont think it would be wise to limit the amount of schools your S1 can to apply to, just because they didn’t want to take a year of math. Esp. schools like cleveland clinic and mayo, which are notoriously the most generous schools in terms of FA. At least calc II and stats should be taken. LOL I’m not trying to shove it down your throat.

@Dwalker, the list in the link you provided has several defects. For example: (from the UTHSC@San Antonio website)
“Advanced placement credit is accepted only if the school granting the credit lists the specific course(s) and number of units granted per course on an official transcript.”
This is STANDARD procedure at my school and I believe it can be requested at almost all others. This is just one example, there are several others. I have personally checked at others on the list since I plan to apply to them. They each indicated there was no problem.

Dwalker,

Thanks for the info. I checked the admission requirements from quite a few of these medical schools (marked with * in the following list). It turns out that most of them do not have requirements for Calc. This is actually a disappointment. If they do, the following policy is generally adopted:

“AP credits can be accepted to fulfill the science requirement if your undergraduate institution gives you credit on your transcript and if it appears (and is verified) on your AMCAS application.”
