A friend of mine applied as a transfer for the Fall 2016 semester and hasn’t heard back yet. Has anyone else gotten an offer of admission or rejection yet? I know notifications officially begin on April 1st and continue on a rolling basis, but it’s getting to a point where if she waits longer and doesn’t get in, she will be in a bad position in her current school in terms of classes and housing.
stony brook been getting pretty bad in giving students their decision. I don’t get why they say they are on a rolling basis, but it is very evident that they are not on a rolling basis.
@sbuadmissions Chris, do you know what’s going on with the transfer acceptances with the chemical engineering department. I did my application in early January and I still haven’t heard my acceptance yet.
Word from our Dean of Admissions is that the last round of Engineering decisions will be made tomorrow. Sorry for the delay.

@sbuadmissions how long do till I have to pay for housing, orientation, and tuition fee if I just got accepted as a transfer student only about four days ago.
You’ll have a deadline on your letter – but it’s probably May 15.

@sbuadmissions I was accepted for transfer to Stony Brook I think in early March. However, I missed the deadline for making the tuition, housing and orientation deposits by May 1. But I made all the deposits on May 5 and now I have a bunch of holds on my account and some stuff in the to do list section in SOLAR. Does this mean my deposit has been accepted and I have been confirmed for enrollment this fall?
Sorry I meant, I was accepted early April not March*. Also the only thing I have on my to do list is to send final high school transcript. The holds included some terms and conditions for registration that I had to accept. And the SB Alert system was also one of the holds. I resolved those but the only ones left are orientation hold and health services grace period. I have completed my new student preferences also.
