Family Weekend Brochure

Hey, Guess what finally came in the mail yesterday (October 25th)? Our brochure for Family Weekend. We knew when it was and weren't planning to go anyway, but I thought it was pretty comical that it arrived more than a week after the event, and more than 3 weeks after the registration deadline. I called Student Affairs and they assured me that it had been sent out in mid-August.

That is really weird. Our brochure came in the mail in plenty of time and we did attend (last time for us -- D is graduating). It was rainy on Saturday, though -- the worst weather of any family weekend we have experienced. Sunday was lovely, however.

You may just have experienced a mail blip.

Yeah, I'd lay that to the post office. Who knows what pile of junk mail it got caught up in.

D had a good time at Family Weekend even though we weren't there. The family of one of her friends took her out to dinner and she met her "little sister's" little sister, who, coincidentally enough, was someone who has haunted these boards and had even exchanged e-mail with D.

Glimpsed your D onstage at the Montage performance, TheDad. It's nice to see her happy at Smith.
Hard to believe it was our last concert until commencement. We have generally attended the Glee Club commencement concert as we bring D home right afterwards, and it is a real tear jerker as the seniors sing their favorite pieces over their four years. (sniff, sniff)

(sniff, sniff) indeed. We won't have many more reservations at the Autumn Inn ourselves.

Hmm. Maybe we oughta think about having a second kid....

Well, I've got one, but definitely not Smith bound. (Why they don't have women's gymnastics at any women's colleges is beyond me.)

We will go in early February when the 5-College Opera Consortium is putting on its gig.
