I worked at this small startup business in which I want to state in my college applications and essays. However, I wasnt on payroll but did receive cash from time to time. I asked my employer about taxes, but he mentioned I was a minor and didnt have to worry. Well…he was wrong. Im doing college applications and planning on registering for FASFA and student income is needed. I never filed for tax returns, and Im really stressed. I really dont know how much money I made in total, but I know it wasnt enough that I was an independent. I have spent countless hours there as I really wanted doing it really for the money. It was a job that relates to what Im majoring so it would be super beneficial for my application. However, I do not know what to do with FASFA and what I should report. I come from a low income background and need every bit of financial aid. I dont know what to put and whether or not specific financial information is seen by admissions.
