Hi, I'm a 17 year old kid aspiring to be a fashion designer but unfortunately has no idea on how to come up with a portfolio for college admission. Could you guys help me with what a portfolio is and how u come up with one? and i would reaaaally be grateful if u could post a sample of your portfolio(Preferably fashion portfolios, not architect, or fine art any of the other type portfolios :) )so i could get a better understanding. Thanks for you hardwork!!!!

Have you checked out University of Cincinnati’s DAAP Fashion Design major? They don’t require a portfolio, because, if admitted, they feel they can teach you everything you need to know. Additionally, their Co-op program, where you alternate semesters, starting in your 2nd year at employers all over the world build the connections and provide the experience that will give you an excellent resume to use upon graduation. Check their admission requirements out here:

For a fashion portfolio they are going to want to see strengths in 2d and 3d form. It should be an intermix of the two. Have some paintings, drawings, and sketches. Show your interest in fashion. What colleges were you thinking of?

CSm and Parsons
