dont we all...

I listen in class, and try to complete my homework that the teacher consign us in the time allotted at the end of every class. That way I don't have to spend half as much time studying

ask smart people what you want to know

Listen in class, take notes so you can track stuff better for hw & tests. As for readings try reading the main points of each paragraph, and if you don't understand it read the example given.

If you are one of those people that can't concentrate and cant listen in class, and doodle and daydream:
Put 1-2 hrs of study 3 times a week, in your schedule and go to the library and put in 100% concentration and effort and read through textbooks and examples of stuff and get prepared for alll your subjects in the library (using the resources there if neccessary).

works for me.

at my school there is no way to take another class instead of having lunch becasue of the way we schedule lunches. (by 4th period there ends up being 4 different groups of students all with a different bell schedule) I know it doesn't make much sense, makes changing schedules very difficult. So, since I have to take lunch, I spend it in the library studdying. Of course the libriarians are very strict about not eating. But most of my teachers (at least last year) didn't care if you ate in class, as long as you didn't leave a mess. The foreign language department sells candy during class. (some international candy from spain, france, and england)

The fastest way to study is to pay attention in class. Then after school even if there's no test review the notes. Spend about 10-20 minutes on each subject. Also ask questions if you have any. On the day before the test review all of your notes. It's pretty simple. A.P. though may be another story. This is a pretty good method.

Are you guys in like AP? Because All of my classes are IB classes. The ones I will study for the most is history, english, physics and math. Psychology is okay. Spanish is incorporated into my daily life (which truly is the most effecient way to learn! XD).

Well, I will take yalls advice.

Someone told me to try the SQ3R method. I'll try that.
Someone else also told me that after taking notes, I use a method to have them in memory it only takes 3 days. Or I can read the notes 15 minutes everyday. I don't know if that will work, but I will try it. Thanks.

the fastest way to study is not to do it at all....

but i generally just read my notes and review my textbooks....

sorry don't look at my past post.. i didn't think I answered ur question properly. What I suggest is cut you unneccessary stuff off your schedule.. like watching TV, internet (cc in particular), umm yeah and also cutting your social life on weeknights..
I found that watching TV (for me) took soo much time from me (2.5hrs a day!)

Well, the easiest way to cut down/speed up your study time is to pay very good attention in class and take good notes. If you do that, then the information will be in your head better so that you feel like you need to study less, and thus your studying gets done more quickly and efficiently.

Reading notes out loud really really helps. I always retain the information better when I can both see my notes in my head and hear myself say them.

Here's my strategy that I'll be using this year:

1.) Find a quiet study area free of distractions. Does your school or town have a library? Use it. I know I'll be using mine. They make it easier to use your time efficiently. Instead of taking an hour and a half on a subject because you are talking to a friend, you'll get the subject done in 45-50 minutes. In addition, you'll retain what you had read better.

2.) Take good notes and REVIEW them. If you're like me, you'll take good notes but never use them. Organize you're notes like I should have done. That way you don't loose them and they're easier to read. On the weekend, for a few hours, review ALL the notes you took for ALL your subjects, making sure you know and remember the material. If you study your notes periodically, like every weekend, you won't get caught studying your notes/cramming the night before a test.

3.) Prepare for a class, especially in the maths and sciences, ahead of time. Before you enter the classroom, like maybe the night before or the morning of, skim through the lesson you'll be learning that day. That way you won't get caught off guard by learning anything too new. You'll have, at least, an idea of what you'll be learning, and the class will only serve as a way to further your understanding. This is a tip I got here from the forums.

4.) Do your homework and don't PROCRASTINATE. Self-explanatory. This is a lesson I learned the hard way. Last year, I would have peformed much better academically if I didn't wait till the last minute to do everything and did all my homework. Homework can either kill your grade in a class or raise it and late paper will definitely hurt you.

5.) Time-management. Learn it. Breathe it. Live it. If you want to make room for other activities in addition to school and remain sane, be ready to live by a strict schedule. Know your priorities. If you have to give up some free time for yourself, give it up.

Note cards, and not just for vocab tests. I swear by them.

"Homework can either kill your grade in a class or raise it and late paper will definitely hurt you."

I can't tell how true this is. This isn't even funny for me, cause last year I ended up with a C in math JUST because I didn't do my homework.

NoFX...Jane, I think?

That sorta doesn't answer the question because I think the OP is trying to find a way to cut studying to make room for everything else.

Oh Rbase and Joker, those are some great advice! Thanks!

I tried this system called garunteed 4.0, hey it almost worked 3.8/4.0

I just go through my textbook until i can answer almost every question on previous hw or tests. Ill also look at my notes occasionaly but I usually prefer the textbook.

can u tell me more about garunteed?

you need good concentration
