Favorite AP review book brand?

I'm looking for a BC Calc AP review book.

Next year I plan on getting an AP Chem one too, and possibly AP Psych.
What's your favorite brand (Barrons, Kaplan, etc) for each subject?

I'm looking for something that goes very in depth.

Ap review books are notorious for skimming the surface and not going as in depth- if you want to learn material over the summer why not borrow the class textbooks from the school over the summer?

I think that when exam time rolls around a combination of the princeton review and crash course in each subject really pays off.

Haha thank you!
I’m took trig and calculus A and most of B (our school is weird) this year and am finishing B and the rest of C next year, and our teacher said the AP exam would be based off an AP AB calc exam, so I wanted to get my book a year early to help study for the final in addition to using it next year.

So you recommend Princeton Review?

I use PR whenever I’m taking the class with the exam OR when I actually want to learn the subject. I use Barron’s when I want to get a high score more than I want to comprehend what I’m learning (basically, PR for AP and Barron’s for ACT/SAT)

Barron’s seems to be good, although its Physics B book was terrible. At least I thought so.

The only one I ever used was AMSCO for US History because it was given to us. I thought it was awesome. It was supposed to supplement the Enduring Vision textbook but it had enough detail to stand on its own! And there’s lots of practice tests and example free response in there.

Thank you!

I ended up getting Peterson’s AP Calc AB & BC.
I’d love to say that I love it but… honestly, I’ve barely looked at it yet. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
And only 4 days until my math final oops.

(Also sorry I realize now that this topic belongs in the AP test preparation forum, I didn’t see that until now)

I hate Barrons’. They make me feel like a failure. Princeton Review is the best!

PR for AP and Barron’s for ACT/SAT +1

^ Thirded. However, it’s certainly not a hard and fast rule. For example, Cliff’s is probably the best for AP Biology.

I’ve always stuck with PR, however I have heard good things about “5 Steps to a 5” and may try one of their books out next year.

Princeton Review for APs for sure. I don’t remember what I used for my SAT IIs (January of sophomore year) but I’m pretty sure it was Princeton Review. And for the SAT I, I liked the College Board book with 10 tests.

i got pr and barron’s for act. both are good, PR slightly better

Taking ap chem, ap english lang, and ap calc ab. Might go with pr unless someone tells me otherwise
