im an indie-rock girl

wolfmother.

oh I also like OkGo, Augustana, The Fratellis, and The Feeling

Yes! I love Voxtrot =)

The Start of Something is the most cuddly song in the world. Seriously. That's the only word I can think of to describe it.
"I'd get angry with athletic ease
Break common laws in two's and three's!!!!"
I love that song. Sosososo great. When I first heard it more than a year ago, I thought that it would be one of those amazing songs that gets old after about twenty listens because it's just TOO catchy. More than a year and a half later, it's still one of my favorites. Everyone needs to hear this song NOW.

No, mcqdeltat, don't listen to rap, but I love Paramore!! Their video (about the mean girl who pushes this guy with a beoken arm and does other cruel stuff) is awesome!! But MTV like never plays it. I watch it on Fuse (this alternative music channel with awesome shows like Steven's Untitled Rock Show and the Sauce, anyone watch it?) or the internet.. I love Arctic Monkeys, The Fray, Yellowcard, U2, Maroon Five, Life House (First Time is a great comeback song) and like dozens of other bands..but my favorite band of all time is Three Days Grace...One-X is like the best album that I have ever listened to.."Never Too Late" is like my fave song right now!!

boys like girls, rooney, and paramore

The Shins, Motion City Soundtrack, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and RHCP are the five greatest bands on the face of the earth.

That said, Voxtrot, Boys Like Girls, and Death Cab for Cutie are almost as amazing, but not quite.

And Guster.

LesOs, The Unicorns are great as well =) haha

I heard the start of something sooo long ago, and I thought they were going to be one of those bands who just come out with one great song and then fade away... But then i started to listen to their other stuff which and they're equally as good or better than start of something! EVERYONE HERE SHOULD GO LISTEN TO VOXTROT!

I don't understand why everyone likes Boys Like Girls. My friends all love them, but they just sound like all of those other "hardcore"/"emo"/I don't even know what they call that "genre" now! bands.

R.I.P. The Unicorns =) Islands were good as well, but now they're done as well....

Don't Make Me a Target is my favorite song today. I feel so silly telling people that "Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga" is a really good album. They stare at me as if I'm stupid. Ha, ha.

Either Circa Survive or Emery.

Ah, The Shins, The Fratellis, The Kooks, Kunek, Snow Patrol, The Fray, The Strokes, Modest Mouse... I could go on forever... :)

Actually, not really. I could not go on forever. But I do like quite a few bands.

I've never listened to Boys Like Girls, and I'm not exactly eager to listen to anything of their's either.

Islands is cool. They sound like a more mature version of The Unicorns, though I still like the Unicorns better. I didn't know both those bands broke up! I heard some solo work from Alden Penner and it's pretty good! Check it out.

Anyone else like State Radio and Dispatch?

i like a ton of metal and prog and it appears that nobody here does!

The Decemberists.
They're a hellofa vocab builder too.

And:

PS: Anyone heard Straylight Run's new album The Space The Needles??
PPS: Anyone have good suggestions for good techno/rave/club/dance/electronica??

DMB- my favorite musician is prolly jack johnson but he obviously doesnt count as a band

and yes coledge im also a dispatch fan...im kinda iffy on state radio

"They're a hellofa vocab builder too."
Ha, so true! All of the stressed kids on the SAT forum should just buy Castaways and Cutouts! Judging from your username, though, you're more of a Her Majesty... girl =)

Thanks to the Legionnaire's Lament, I now know what a charabanc is ("a large bus used on sightseeing tours, esp. one with open sides and no center aisle").

LOLOL @ the Decemberists comment!
It's so true.
