Favorite Boarding School Experiences

I've been spending a lot of time on this forum recently either by lurking or by occasionally responding to questions. It has made me exceptionally jealous of some applicants who are just beginning the exciting journey that attending a boarding school is. There are times where I get homesick at college and instead of missing home, I miss school. Anyways on some of my replies I reminisced on past experiences from my alma mater and I decided to create this thread so either alums or current students could post their favorite memories of their school. By doing this, hopefully all of you applicants out there will be inspired to look at an un-thought of school, or just get more excited about your top choice.

Where did u go?

I went to St. Mark’s in Southborough, MA. It’s a relatively small school. I have so many positive memories (not to say that I don’t have any negative memories, I do).

One of my favorite memories was the classics trip I took my senior year. The classics trip is offered every two years and involves spending time in Italy. Last year we spent about 5/6 days in Rome and 4/5 days in Naples whereas my sophomore year we went to Rome and Athens. It was amazing. I went on the trip with four of my really good friends (24 people total went though). It was a great way to kick off senior spring. We got to experience incredible tours by our classics department who is fabulous. Rome is one of my favorite cities in the world.

However, I have to say that my absolute favorite year at SM was my sophomore spring. It came after a rather difficult winter, and it was just fantastic and I was so happy.
