Favorite celebrity/famous role model?

Can be actor, actresss, singer, politician, leader, etc.

Mine is Manmohan Singh. Grew up in a small village, won scholarships to study economics in London, and liberlized India's economy, taking hundreds of millions out of poverty and into middle class life. He's also a clean politician in a sea of corrupt scoundrals.

What about you guys?

Kobe Bryant, Keith Olbermann, Howard Dean.

I absolutely adore Kate Winslet and Sandra Bullock. A close second and third is Drew Barrymore and Brittney Murphy (RIP :frowning: )

Elisha Cook, Jr. is a perfect role model for me.
From Wikipedia:
[He] was an American character actor who made a career out of playing cowardly villains and weedy neurotics in dozens of films.

Oprah Winfrey!

Gackt is my role model.
He’s a singer, songwriter, composer, poet, actor, model, and mastered trumpet, tuba, trombone, piano, guitar, drums, and bass. He speaks Japanese, English, and Chinese.

Francis Marion (partisan leader in the American Revolution), John S. Mosby (same in the Civil War), in that order. I had to change the username due to MarionMosby sounding like a girl’s name.

Then there’s Teddy Roosevelt (one of the few famous people whose live weren’t completely unenviable…), Stonewall Jackson (awesome on so many levels), and all the guys whose names I don’t know who hit the beaches on D-day, rigged radios from inside Nazi prison camps, flew planes home on half a wing and a prayer, and then came back home and put men on the moon (and brought them back).

Lindsey Lohan. ;)

"Wilson: I’m saying that Stonewall Jackson was trash himself. Him and Lee and all the rest of them rebs. You, too.
Frank ‘Stonewall’ Torrey: You’re a low-down lyin’ Yankee!
Wilson: Prove it. "
Poor Elisha Cook :(

Seconding Sandra Bullock.

Meryl Streep! great actress, super smart, went to yale…
and Daniel Brühl: cute, good actor, smart and speaks like 5 languages…

Edna Mode.

John Milton, Albrecht Altdorfer, and Sendivogius!!!

You mam, win at life.

I would have to say K’naan. He grew up in Somalia during the Civil War (Black Hawk Down is about this, if you’ve seen it). His 3 best friends were shot and killed in an alley on the same day. He got the last commercial flight out of Somalia to America, and then lived in Harlem for a few months. Then he moved to Canada, and later on he preformed a spoken word piece in front of the UN on behalf of Somalia. Now he’s a beast rapper :D

^ I’m somali!!! K’naan’s awesome i totally agree :D

btw the “somali” people in black hawk down look nothing like somali ppl!! i was like ***!!! I know a lot of ppl in my extended family that were shot and killed during the civil war :frowning: I actually was in Somalia last summer…lol.

Natalie Portman and Emma Watson

Probs John Lennon and Buzz Aldrin.

Mine is ghandi and Marie curie. I admire their sense of leadership and dedication to make what is right and not just go along with it. I guess it’s like my personality and that’s why I like them. I also love their stubborness. It truly inspires me of how much they have proven to this world and I wanna do the same thing…I guess.

Not really someone I idolize or a “role model” per say, but my favorite celebrity is probably Robert Downey, Jr. I can’t think of a famous person that I consider to be my role model, to be honest. There’s quite a few that inspire me artistically, though.

Jesus
Barack and Michelle Obama
