"It's a great thing when you realize you still have the ability to surprise yourself." -American Beauty

I just want to interject that if I were an admissions officer, I would be so intrigued by reading these! I've never even seen some of these movies but just reading the quote and knowing that it's somebody's favorite kind of makes me want to go watch them.

yeah, you can say that again!
"If you build it, they will come." seems particularly interesting...

That's from Field of Dreams, right?
That seems like one of those movies that everybody should have seen at some point in their late childhood, but I never did. Is it a Remember-the-Titans-esque experience?

i have no idea. 'remember the titans' was awesome, though. and i'm such a cry baby but it's such a sad movie...

I love Remember the Titans. Even though I have seen it approximately 300 times because we watch it on the bus or before every single swim meet/tennis tournament/anything sports-related because it's all motivational. And we watch it during Civil Rights discussions. And during random lapses in curriculum. Basically, it's every teacher/coach/adult's favorite movie to show here.

I really do love it though. I thought about putting it as my favorite movie, but I like Life Is Beautiful more.

Did anybody put their favorite line from a movie as a line from their previously-listed favorite movie?

Field of dreams with kevin Costner was about a guy in the midwest who built a baseball stadium in the middle of a massive cornfield. He had doubts as to whether or not his passion for baseball would be shared by others. Thus, the quote "If you build it, they will come."

When was Field of Dreams made? Is it like...an old movie?
