heheh sorry I stole your thunder! But I'll credit you for teaching that to me in the first place =)

OH MY GOD. Coldplay is NOT boring. Unlike most mainstream music (which I don't listen to - honestly, my tastes are limited to opera/classical music, Coldplay, and gangsta rap), Coldplay's music is beautiful, with moving, emotional chord progressions and poetic lyrics.

My favorite song of theirs is "Shiver." It really is a fantastically masterful song. "Don't Panic" is good, too (in response to athlonmj), but I do think it is one of the more "pop song-like" pieces on the album Parachutes. After all, it has become rather popularized by its appearance in Zach Braff's (sp?) Garden State. I'm not really one to hate on popularized music, though. I am totally digressing.

My point? I don't know. Coldplay is good. The only song I don't really love on the album is "High Speed"; I do really love "Shiver," "We Never Change," and "Parachutes," and I'm sad that "Parachutes" is so short. Then again, perhaps it's the song's brevity that makes it so powerful.

I do highly recommend opera to everyone out there. La Boheme is a perfect starter opera. It really is good! OPERA IS GREAT! YAY FOR OPERA! :)

Yea becky I commented on parachutes' brevity too. I always have to listen to it three times to compensate. And although Yellow is overrated by now, it was the song to make me fall in love with them in the first place...

freckly, i strongly disagree with your statement, all of coldplay's music seems to revolve on a simple I IV V I progression and it leaves me bored after listening to them because they don't seem to mix it up. I think the only musically tantalizing album that came out in the last year was Brian wilson's "Smile"--it's absolutely phenomenal stuff, I reccommend it to all of you.

coldplay is .... so bad lol. their cd with the song "clocks" i listened to it like a number of times to TRY to like it and i hated it and gave it away :-D

I miss the good ole' days when Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osborne etc were the *****.
