im a transfer applicant. but recently i got a letter from them asking me to fax my high school transcript. which is weird. 1. because i had more than 30 units already. 2. viterbi is already giving out admissions to transfers.

anyway, i still have to fax it though. how do you do it? i went to the site the usc.edu/admissionfax and it points me to the sig account. the gateway i think. when i got there, i tried downloading the coversheet but i all i can get is an unreadable .aspx file. what do i do?

i'm planning on transfering next year to marshall and i was wondering..(dumb question) do the high schools actually keep your transcript? or am i suppose to request my transcript now and just hold on it. thanks!

You need Adobe Acrobat to read this form, but here it is to be used when sending in your HS transcript. You can get more info about transferring at the website below that link.

mm, the coversheet should be a .pdf file. were you able to get it working?

and yeaaah, it's really weird that they're asking you for hs transcripts. maybe they want to see if your math and science scores were strong in hs? they could be looking for academic trends and whatnot... did you send in sat scores?

confused_junior - i think all schools are required to keep transcripts and attendance/discipline records on file for like 5-10 years after you graduate... at least in my state. you should be able to go back to your high school after graduating from college to pick up a copy of your hs transcript.

i found it surprising though. i emailed them. i got no reply on why i cant download a pdf file though. they just said send it in asap. will it be worth it? i mean it'll cost me around $28. i tried it again on a different computer (downloading) all i get is the .aspx file again.

and i didnt take the sats because i finished university already. im applying for a second undergrad.

That seems very expensive for a fax. Could you fax USC & ask them to fax you the form they want you to include? Also explain in your e-mail that you already have one undergraduate degree and are applying for a second one. Under these circumstances, are they SURE they really need your high school transcript? Doesn't make sense to me. Also ask them if you could send it "air mail"?
Do you have Adobe Acrobat on your computer? If you don't, you can't view the form (that's usually what the problem is, since that's the only way to view the form).

HImom- the $28 is for the airmail. fedex usually. faxing it will be cheaper.

yep i told them via email that i finished it already. they replied saying, they require all transfer applicants to submit official copies of my high school transcripts and the diploma too.

i dont know usc's fax number though.

oh, i have acrobat reader in my pc. still everytime i tried to download the covers from sig.usc, all i get is the unreadable .aspx file.
