So anyone from CC going to be there?

I’ll be there for PBL nationals, then visiting friends from my high school for FBLA’s. Lucky to be so close at UCLA.

isn’t FBLA a joke?

^ No.

Hoping there isn’t a thread on this already, but…

How much is FBLA nationals worth? And does anyone know about the nationals competition for Computer Game & Simulation? Is it pretty beastin’? I have a conflict with another state competition for French, and I’m leaning on attending that one instead of the state FBLA that may qualify my group for nationals (if I don’t attend state - despite my team winning - I won’t be allowed to attend nationals).

Any help appreciated. ):

Aww, I wish I was still in FBLA! Even when I qualified for Nationals two years ago, I couldn’t go because of money.

I qualified for the 2011 NLC in Orlando, but I won’t be able to go, because of another college program offer. But either way, the NLC is very exciting and definitely worth it in my opinion. I attended the one last year in Nashville and had a blast!

DECA>FBLA :o…

Im goin for econ! Anyone else?

Sent from my HTC EVO 4G using CC App

^one of my teammates is going…let’s just say he’s REALLY good

How hard IS FBLA? Several students from my school went to nationals and yet I KNOW that they aren’t very bright or studious, which made me believe that FBLA was a piece of cake.

it varies by state and by event. it’s by no means a piece of cake, the problem seems to be that the judging process can be odd… One of my friends is a nationally ranked extemporaneous speaker and made finals at the Harvard National Speech Tournament, which is arguably the hardest high school tournament in the nation. She didn’t even make it out of prelims in FBLA Public Speaking II…

Just goes to show you how screwy FBLA judging can be.

DECA yeah baby

Did anyone else get an email asking “Want to Earn $50 at the FBLA NLC in Orlando?”

FBLA could be a joke, depending on the state. In non-competitive states, it’s really easy to qualify. In other states, like CA (where I’m from), it’s really really hard to make it past state.

And yeah I’m going this year :)

I’ll be going to nats this summer looking forward to it…Anyone have an idea of how many right out of a hundred one would need to get right to place in a test like Economics or Accounting at the national level?

^I hear that the top-placing competitors get just a few questions wrong, not verified though.

Yeah, that’s what i heard too…kinda bummed thats it’s here in Orlando, same place where my state conference was held haha…anyways, looking forward to the competition.

for california this yr 1st place for FBLA states in parli procedure got 67/100, so maybe its kinda hard or just the ppl taking it were dumb…

Deca!

Fbla. Whatever!
