My son answered an on-line ad for this via one of the big 'career' websites for IT consulting with training. He had a phone interview and they invited him in for an assessment during his spring break. I hadn't heard of the company so did a little research. Apparently they offer a training program then job placement. The catch (and there are a few I think) is, you don't get paid when you train (~ 3 months), you are committed to them for 2 years (not sure if training is part of this), and if you leave prior to that, you have to pay for the training (and from what I can figure out, it could be quite pricey, 20-30k).

I searched for reviews. They are mixed. I fear the positives are shills (great experience, great exposure, etc). The negative say things like even after training, pay it below par. They can't always place you but you can't quit (don't know what the pay is for down time if at all). They push their favorites, so if you're not a favorite, you'll go on few interviews. There's no benefits. They can place you anywhere.

My son was actually feeling good about it when they invited him back, until I burst his bubble. He still wants to go, which I said is fine, but told him NOT to sign anything.

Anyone know of anybody who checked out this program or even participated?
