i wrote 3/10 so im sure its fine. Last year’s also had same answer. https://educationrealist.files.■■■■■■■■■■■■■/2014/10/ccmathsatanswers.png
I put 3/10.
@emilyh321 The QAS is the Question and Answer Service, but it is not available for makeup tests. Student Answer Service provides a list of question types, level of difficulty, and whether the test taker answered correctly,
incorrectly, or omitted.
Idk if it would be particularly helpful or not.
@Kawaiiii really? where did u hear that
@aabraham I’ve never seen a question in any test where they would ask for it in x% form, it’s usually a fraction. 3/10 is correct I believe.
this really was a horribly frustrating SAT. not only was the experimental section the easiest of the math sections (section 2), the potential brutality of the curve in combination with the difficulty of the latter three math sections is going to make for an arduous 19 day wait. at least we can all lament together haha.
also i posted a compilation of the Dec 2013 curves earlier in this thread, but i’ll repost them below for those that didn’t see it -
here are my curve predictions again, based on anecdotal reports provided by December 2013 test takers:
Math:
-1 = 770
-2 = 740
-3 (2 incorrect, 1 omit) = 720
-4 (3 incorrect) = 690
Writing:
-1, -2, -3, -4 (w/ 11-12 Essay) = 800
i couldn’t find enough information to determine scores under 800 accurately, but the writing curve was pretty substantial, especially when compared to math. here’s another writing score from a Dec. 2013 test taker -
-15 (w/ 9 Essay) = 660
Critical Reading:
-1 = 800
-2 = 790
-3 = 750
-4 = 730
-5 = 720
-6 = 700
-7 = 680
i can only hope our testing group did horribly on math overall. any means of mitigating the curve’s depression-inducing power is welcome by me.
@smithstorm From what I’m reading on the Jan 2016 SAT thread (which was June 2014 recycled) the curve was recycled from the previous administration…
college admissions is a joke.
that’s what i’d expect, and it’s exactly the reason i went through the work of digging up those curve stats from the 2013 thread. seems like CB just wasn’t feeling all too gracious that December… sigh.
so nobody knows the date that scores come out?
my buddy who goes to Harvard and is practically a god of all things standardized said “scores come out 19 days after the test date, on the nose.”
Was the section that had a graph with the percent change and was like a paragraph long on the math the experimental section? I believe this was section 2.
@jenniferrrrrrr CC said that the scores will be released between March 11 and March 18.
I thought it was z is directly proportionall to x
Guys was section 2 experimental? It had a graph that had to do with percent change?
For the essay I cited yes it was better to use intution than logical thought because we do it subconciously everyday. I think I cited religion and something about science. My conclusion was awesome though I tied everything back to my introduction while still mentioning my body paragraphs it was beautiful.
@LakersNation i believe section 2 was experimental. not sure about the percent change thing, unless you’re talking about the male vs. female percentage with the age intervals or something… that may have been section 2.
also, screw CB for giving us an experimental on the LAST old SAT administration date. thought we’d make history with the first ever 9 section test
Was section two the one where it was like 5<sqrt(x)<10?
