***February 2016 SAT Makeup Thread***

Does anyone have any idea of what the February 27th makeup will be like? Which months do they not release the tests? Are there any websites that post December or March tests?

@flightzealot Thank you!

@jenniferrrrrrr We are in South Carolina and took the make up test.

The curve will not be the same as the December test. Curves are determined by how test takers do and since we are a different group, our curve will be different. The March 2008 test October 2010 and 2013 March international test were all the same. If you look at their CC discussions, you’ll see that they all had different curves.

On the past exams I’ve taken, results come out 2.5 weeks or 17 days after but if you look at last year’s February makeup test, you’ll see that the results were posted 12 days after the test administrated so I’ll assume it’ll come out around 12-17 days too

@sosoyumii Since the new curve is based on our performance, do you think it’s gonna be harsher or more leninet than the Dec. 2013 one? Also, the CB website says that the scores will come out between March 11 and March 18.

Anyone taking the February 27th makeup?

@tm1party I believe it should be more lenient. Its all just speculation, and there are a lot of factors, but if you look at it based on just the location, the east coast actually has among the lowest average SAT’s.

@tm1party no offense, but I don’t think college board is that nice to give a generous curve :confused:

@aabraham Let’s just hope it’s lenient. Really surprised that the east coast has the lowest SATs!

@aabraham @tm1party Lol, probably more lenient if the curve is indeed going to be different. There were kids at my test center, in NYC, saying that they’re praying for a 1300 (all 3 sections). Srs.

@Anonymous261 Is it just intuition or is it based on logic :blush:

@flightzealot I don’t want to be an ill-wisher, but that’s funny. Lol.

@tm1party I mean I haven’t seen a lenient curve from the College Board and aren’t the curves pre-determined?

I just hope the writing curve is close to the December one, but the other two better. I don’t think I got many writing wrong and was pretty confident in my essay.

@Anonymous261 Yeah, in a way the curves are always brutal, but some are more lenient than others. For example, for the November 2015 SAT, the math curve is -1=800. However, for some tests, it’s -1=780 or even -1=770. The way curves are determined is debated. IMO the curves depend on the performance of students. In other words, if students do well (have high raw scores), the curve is going to be harsh.

Then…hope everyone did alright not that great for there to be a lenient curve. No offense guys

special thing, not marriage

@chelswalk882 That is not what you are supposed to do for an SAT essay, you have to make a claim and support it with concrete outside evidence, I will be surprised if you get above a 8 on it.

@CCswami the answer to the prob was B. Read that answer key again and it says that there was controversy about the answer. I found another answer key and that said the answer was B. I trust the later answer key.

My son took the makeup on Saturday. This is his third time. First one was the June fiasco then the September one and now this one. He said he had trouble finishing one of the math sections, he felt rushed to finish it. He hasn’t had any trouble finishing any sections before. I’m wondering did any of you have a math section that seemed like it might have been an experimental one that took longer?
