***February 2016 SAT Makeup Thread***

Yeah it was probably indirectly, i made two stupid mistakes, that one and the listing of the coins (2,3,5).

For the fishing passage. Did you guys get “to show how diverse the species were during one time” or “to show which species were going extinct” for an answer (this was the question asking what is the purpose of the list of different fish)?

there was a question for section 10, the choices were that and those of…
_____young children or adults
I put “that of”

@flightzealot I put the one that shows how diverse the species were

@flightzealot For the coin one, how did you do it? I tried to list everything out and it took too long.

I got it wrong but it didn’t take too long. It was only 5 possibilities.
2,2,2,2,2,2
3, 3, 3, 3
5, 5, 2
5, 3, 2, 2
2, 3, 2, 3, 2

Ur right, there r only 5 possibilities.

Any curve predictions?
I’m thinking…
CR
67 800
66 800
65 800
64 780
63 760
Math
54 800
53 780
52 760
51 730
Wr
49 800
48 780
47 750

They wouldn’t make the curve any harsher because of the delay, right?

I just found out that CB reused the 2014 October SAT in Asia…

Will the feb 27 makeup be the same? Seems really unfair…

this makeup exam was the exact same as the December 2013 SAT, and the curve for the U.S. test was (sadly) not very gracious, especially for math. assuming college board will be recycling the curve, this is what i’ve allotted from going through the Dec 2013 thread:

obviously, these are all subject to change, but i’d assume the curve will be similar if not identical.

Math:
-1 = 770
-2 = 740
-3 (2 incorrect, 1 omit) = 720
-4 (3 incorrect) = 690

Writing:
-1, -2, -3, -4 (w/ 11-12 Essay) = 800
i couldn’t find enough information to determine scores under 800 accurately, but the writing curve was pretty substantial, especially when compared to math. here’s another writing score from a Dec. 2013 test taker -
-15 (w/ 9 Essay) = 660

Critical Reading:
-1 = 800
-2 = 790
-3 = 750
-4 = 730
-5 = 720
-6 = 700
-7 = 680

that’s the best compilation i could produce. horrible, horrible math curve, very generous writing (for some reason), and a pretty brutal CR. not very favorable, my friends.

I thought it was y is directly propotional to x, not to x^2. Am I wrong? Did I read it wrong?

gosh @smithstorm thats actually horrifying for math… I flipped when you said “3 Wrong = 690” - but thanks for the info!

Was the December 2013 test ever released to the public?

What was the vocab word with the sentence about Judy Chicago’s Dinner Table and women?

I know it had something to do with honoring the women but I dont remember the word

“Laud”, I think.

no @petitbleu

thanks do you by any chance remember the other choices @petitbleu
