Looking to visit campus in February and open to any hotel recommendations that you may have. For my wife and daughter and their expectations are higher than mine!! Will be for a Saturday and Sunday night. Thanks!!
We stayed at the Sheraton Four Points. It was pretty nice, and located between the university and downtown. You’ll need to drive or Uber to the stadium where the tours start. There’s a Residence Inn that’s about 4 blocks from the stadium that you could walk to. I don’t know what that hotel is like.
Thanks @shortnuke
The Sheraton Four Points is one of the closest “good” hotel to the University’s limits. It’s right on Tennessee Street, just a couple blocks from the northeastern edge of campus. I don’t know your budget for a hotel but it probably isn’t that expensive if you’re coming into town on a random weekend.
Aside from that, the Residence Inn along the south side of campus is probably your other good bet for a good hotel close to campus, but based off a random search of hotels on a random February 2018 weekend, it was significantly pricier than the Four Points.
There’s also an aloft hotel downtown that a lot of people like. That one was in between the Four Points and the Residence in price, but it’s further from campus.
There’s a bunch of middle-tier hotels along Monroe Street near I-10 or along Apalachee Parkway, that will be a bit of a drive to campus but are decently rated and relatively inexpensive.
My recommendation though is either the Four Points or the Residence Inn, if you can get a room in either of them. They’re both right next to campus so you’ll get the feel of what the campus-adjacent areas are like.
