Federal work study

How do you apply for federal work study jobs if you get that as part of your financial aid?

Here is UNC’s page regarding Federal Work Study:

[Federal Work-Study - The Office of Scholarships & Student Aid](Work-Study Programs - Office of Scholarships and Student Aid)

Below is a link to the jobs available through Work Study:

Browse the hundreds of jobs available and pick a few that interest you. Once you get to Carolina, schedule interviews with those that are possibilities. Have a resume prepared (nothing fancy is required but a concise snapshot of your experience will be helpful). There are often jobs available in departments for your major, research, planetarium, etc. with varying and flexible schedules. The amount of hours you can work will be based on your Work Study award amount. My D worked at the Campus Y - UNC’s center for social justice, and truly enjoyed the experience.

Good luck!

How do I schedule the interviews?

On the individual job information pages there will be contact information, who the supervisor is along with an email address. Just send correspondence that you are have Federal Work Study $$ available, why you want to work for them and ask for an interview. Get your name in early because the popular ones get lots of activity. Have your resume ready to send…
