So a few schools have sent me fee waivers and I applied to one of them. I noticed when I applied all I had to do was check the box that said I got a waiver on the common app. I looked online and some people were saying that you can check the box even if you didn’t get a fee waiver and that is a way to request one. Is this true? How do they know that I actually have a fee waiver?
Common app automatically give every student 20 fee waivers if you fill out the fee waiver section in the common app questionnaire and qualify.
@NkechiNicole the fee waivers were not for financial reasons, and were given to me because of my act score I presume. Is the common app fee waiver only for financial need?
@medrunner1998 Nope. I qualified because I was part of a low income program. I’m not low income though.
As long as you can mark one of the requirements, you can get the fee waivers.
I don’t think you should check that option for a fee waiver for a specific school because who knows if colleges are looking or not. If you have 20 schools on common app, you don’t need to pay because of the common app fee waiver (as long as you fill out the section)
