Fee waiver

Hello,

I am an international student who will be applying to colleges in the US this year.

I was wondering if asking for a fee waiver impacts my admissions chances somehow. Also, if I ask for a fee waiver does it mean that EFC is 0?

I ask this because my family is willing to shell out $5000 from savings but we’d rather not pay the app fee as our income is less than $20000 and b/c I’ll be applying to a lot of colleges.

<p>Some schools waive the fee if you apply online.</p>

<p>It won't mean that your EFC is 0, just that you are at a financial disadvantage and don't want that to affect your opportunities.</p>

<p>Fee waivers won't affect your chances; schools - some of them, at least - only look at whether you'll be applying for financial aid.</p>
