Feeling like I don't have a good fit for LAC with good photography program

Hello! I am finalizing my school list and I feel very constrained by my choices/ don’t feel like I have a school that I fit with very well. I’m looking for guidance/suggestions. I’m a fine art photographer with a very solid knowledge of technical applications but I’m looking for an emphasis on fine art.

Here are my stats:
GPA: 3.6 UW/ 4.75 W
Rank: 46/380
ACT: 32

I’m looking for a liberal arts school with a very solid photography program as well as other solid academics. My current list is as follows:
Hampshire - liked the feel but almost didn’t feel serious enough?
Skidmore - limited photo
Oberlin - soon to visit
Bard - great photo program but have heard a lot of negativity about Bard from my sister at Vassar
Bennington - ?
Goucher - ?

I’d like to be in the northeast but I’m open to other locations.

I was also going to suggest the strategy of looking at larger schools, but I did find a few small ones. Try maybe Alfred, Ithaca. Elon.

Have you considered art schools at all?

Purchase College would meet your requirements on paper, but their general academics might not be as strong as you would like.

RIT is another somewhat larger school which has a strong photography dept. Some art schools (ex. RISD) may work as well.

You may want to add St Olaf and Chapman. Look at various LAC faculties and specific profs. Look at their portfolios.
