Fellows Weekend for the Class of 2024

@Sound6 Hi! Just wanted to give you some insight as a current business fellow at Elon University who also consider w&m and wake. I have had an amazing time at Elon and the experience that the Fellows program offers is unparalleled. In my experience, the fellows cohort becomes very close (basically guaranteed friends, which as a freshman is important) and ultimately many people end up rooming together. What the business fellows program does a great job of is fostering holistic growth. The chance to invest the schools endowment or consult for a real company in senior year along with the free j-term study abroad trip is wonderful. Your daughter is obviously very smart so academics at Elon would probably be comparable to AP difficulty but this allows for time to get involved. Business fellows must also complete 20 hours of service within a semester which encourages students to give back! I hope to see your daughter next fall so the fellows can welcome her to the “club”!

Congrats to all Fellows!

@Sound6 , my son attends Elon (not a Fellow) and we looked at WF and W&M. I think the three have distinctive feels/cultures. Does she have a feeling of which one she likes better? As for us, my son was attracted to the strong vision Elon and philosophy of engaged learning, the rave reviews we kept hearing, and the strong mentoring. He withdrew his app from WF due to fit/culture…he’s not a “work hard play hard” kind of guy, and also didn’t want a school with a large Greek presence (these are totally personality related, and might be great for your D!). He didn’t get into W&M but would have loved to. It seems like WF and W&M, while both very strong academically, great prep for grad school and pre professional (as well as Elon especially in Fellows) , each have quite different feel from each other. I don’t know anything about UF sorry! Great choices, congrats to your D and good luck!

For those who were waitlisted for a Fellows Program, have you heard back? Do you know anything about the notification process?

How was the interview process? How many students were interviewed compared to those who applied?
