Fellowships

Has anyone who applied for Fall 08 (MS or PhD) considered fellowhsips or anything? I've been so busy just finishing my apps that I barely even thought about it, until my friend brought it up. Are fellowships even available for entering grad students?

Also, i'm applying for MS in chemical engineering. Does anyone know what kind of financial aid is available. I know most schools dont have funding for MS, but are TAships or RAships available? i'm going to be doing research no matter what.

There is the NSF fellowship and the DOD fellowship for entering science/engineering grad students. Fellowships,RA,TA funding are mainly reserved for phD students and you most likely won't be offered anything upon acceptance. Your best bet would be to look for an RAship once enrolled.

There are plenty of fellowships out there for entering grad students. Just take a look around.

Just wanted to say that the NSF, NDSEG, Hertz, etc. are for PhD and not MS programs - I don't know of an outside fellowship that applies to MS programs.

The NSF can apply to research-based master's programs.

If you are a woman, the AAUW Selected Professions Fellowships are for master's students, and ChemE qualifies.
