so I know engineering has a bad rep with not a lot of female interest, is biology the same way? along with other STEM majors? I'm curious because I'm a female interested in studying biology in college. thanks everyone

No, there are lots of women in biology…I think it’s basically 50/50.

I’m in the same boat…I’m listing engineering as my major for most schools because it’s a more impacted major at the universities where I’m applying (UCs). I think it’s easier to switch to Biology than vice versa if I decide to go that route. I bet there are more women in Biology than other STEM majors. In general, women are under-represented in all STEM careers.

There are a ton of female bio majors. No shortage of women. Heck, there’s too many bio majors and not enough jobs.

What do you plan on doing with a bio degree.

okay that’s interesting.
I’m interested in going to medical school, if not that then some scientific research career. but who knows a lot can change in 4 years!

All the bio PHD’s I know…3…are women.
