Few questions about provisional admit

1) I have to have my transcripts sent in by May 9th but isn’t May 1st when I have to submit my deposit? Do only admitted get this option to do so?
2) There is no “rush” type of thing at my school. There is now a 5-7 business day waiting period to send in transcripts and I know they are so slow. I am going to go there today and ask if they can get their lazy butts into gear…they would be sending my transcripts at the latest by May 2nd (I think).
3) I dropped two classes this semester. One without a W, one with a W. As far as I know, I don’t think I needed them for my major (Applied Math). One of the classes was a second semester chemistry course (which everyone is failing horribly in there right now, no one is passing) and a ceramics class I thought was for beginners but it was actually for more advanced students. Is this going to be a problem? I tried calling CPP several times, but I could not reach them for a word.
4) Does provisional admission mean I’m in? Pretty much? I have gotten provisional admission everywhere else because I have English 102, Physics 120 (E&M), and Comm 101 (acing all) to finish.

I’m not too sure about this one - have you sent in transcripts before or is that May 9th for final transcripts? I’d call admissions about it because I’m pretty sure that ECD is non-refundable.

CPP will take in transcripts received after the deadline as long as they were postmarked by the deadline. So if the latest your school can send it is May 2nd and CPP is telling you May 9th, then you’re good as long as your school postmarks it on or before the 9th.

I would check out assist.org to see if that chem course is needed for your major. I was considering dropping a class and getting a W so I contacted CPP about it. It wasn’t a class I needed for my major - I was just taking it because I needed to be full time. I didn’t end up dropping it but if I did, it would not have affected my admission. Regardless of that class, I will still be transferring with 60+ semester units and that’s definitely something you need to have.

No, provisional admit does not mean you’re in for sure. I actually got “admitted clear” so there is definitely a difference between the two. I would think the reason you got provisionally admitted is because you are currently taking one or more classes needed for either admittance to the CSU or your major and CPP needs to wait for a final transcript to say yes for sure (I’m thinking it’s the physics course). I say that because I have already completed all necessary transfer classes for CSU and my major so I think that’s why I got the admit clear status and not provisional (I could’ve transferred in for Spring but I wanted to wait for Fall).

Hope that helps!
