Filling 4 circles on one answer is considered a mistake?

<p>Running out of time, I was still undecided on the very last question in the section and I somehow believed I would have more time to fill 3 more circles (leaving the correct answer unshaded), rather than to erase the circle I formerly filled and fill the correct answer. I was awfully dumb to act based on my previous experience in other multiple choice exams, where filling 4 circles out of 5 means that the one you left unfilled is your choice. However, I'm afraid this is not the case for the SAT, right?</p>

<p>I am fairly certain that it will be graded as incorrect, given that the SAT instructions are to bubble just the correct answer.</p>

Mostly math competitions. But now that I think of it, those competitions expressly required one to use a pen and this is probably why one was allowed to fill 4 circles. Stupid, stupid, stupid mistake…</p>
