if a scholarship application only provides 6 lines to "briefly state or summarizes my plans as they relate to my educational and career objectives and long-term goals", do they expect me to attach an essay or only use those six lines?

would i do the same with the 4 lines they provide for my unusual circumstances: attach an essay or just use those 4 lines?

It really depends on the specific criteria of the scholarship provider. I would contact the organization offering the award rather than assume anything. Reviewing scholarship applications is a time consuming process, and a lot of applications are eliminated immediately for not following standard format. If they don't say specifically, I would definately try to get a hold of someone.
