Film Program at the School of Communications

Does anyone have any insights about the quality of the film program at the SOC? I am very interested in American University, and trying to get in touch with some students in the film school. I have already gotten into Ithaca, Hofstra, and Emerson, and waiting for a response from American. If you know someone(s) that I could contact to ask specific questions about the film program, please let me know. Thanks!

I have heard that they really do have a good quality program - and if you look at the curriculum there are some pretty decent course choices as compared to other schools. Hofstra and especially Emerson definitely have more courses to choose from and Emerson definitely will let you take a more specific route. Have you visited all the schools? Because each one definitely has a distinct feel though Hofstra and American are somewhat similar. I think it depends on the college experience you are looking for as to whether you choose Emerson vs. the other three. You will definitely give up some of the college experience at Emerson and be limited as to the types of people you meet as they are all in the same fields - but then again - you have Boston as your campus.
