Hey,
I'm a senior interested in Film, specifically directing or editing as a career. Anyway im starting to narrow down my film school choices. My number one use to be NYU until i realized its social/ college life was lacking and it wasnt worth the 50k a year that i dont have. Basically i want to leave college with little or no loans on my back and move out to LA to try and make a living.
So now my choices are narrowed down to SCAD, Ithaca, BU, and Temple. Each have there pros and cons and thats where i need your help in which is best for me. I want a school that first of all has a good film program. That means faculty, program, networking, alumni, internships etc... I also want a school that has a party/ college life. While freshman year i plan to enjoy the college life, i do plan on focusing the remaing years on my major.
So as of now i have (in no ranking order)

Temple
-I live in philadelphia so temples bad rap is not attractive
-It is a commuter school - party/ social life is non existent from what i heard
-Supposdely after meeting with the head of the department (warren bass) the grad school for film is like top 5 in teh country and the teachers/ courses of the grad program are almost the same in the undegrad - true?
-Equipment is par with industry
-LA Program/ Good Alumni representation?
-Can go free b/c mom works for the hospital (however it is only 9k a year which is cheaper than my highschool)

SCAD
-Just visited it recently and was impressed
-Met one student who had no problem with parties/ social life, however after reading many posts, i've heard social life sucks, which i would expect from a slow southern town
-Equipment is best in country compared to the industry and other colleges
-Crime rate is bad? as i've read
-Not NASAD accredited? Not too familiar with this term until reading forums here, but NYU isn't either. So is there really a big deal?
-No LA Program/Not big city so internships with major companies hard to come by
-Something about no Teacher Tenure
-Faculty seemed very qualified, and the program seemed very good
-Is it well known in the industry for film? - basically when i graduate college will it be hard for me to get a job, being that i put all my possible effort into it
-With a few scholarships, i could attend tuition free

Ithaca:
-Park School of Communication is one of the best, but after reading reviews, is overated in that teachers arn't that great and dont care about students
-Film department only uses 16/ 35 mm, which while is for the most part industry standard and a basic, its just seems outdated, expensive, and not geared towards teh future of digital (opinions?)
-Party school (out of my choices the one with most oppurtunities)- but almost to the extent that is all of wat students do
-LA program/ Numerous internship oppurtunities
-Weather/ area: cold, no sun in winter, remote area
-Also have an opportunity to go free if given Park Scholarship which am waiting on

BU:
-Liked the urban atmoshpere but how it still had campus feel
-Have read mixed reviews on social life
-Didnt get to see the film department when i visted (so any opinions on its film department, teachers/program/networking/equipment, compared to others would appreciate that)
-Also have opportunity to go free if receive MLK scholarship

So basically in a nut shell, i'm looking for a school that i can go to for free or close to it; has a good film program as far equipment, teachers, networking, interships, credibility, and job placement go (i know thats a big list haha); a college/ party life to enjoy for my first year or two

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated - i'm stuck
thanks

-Has LA program
