fin aid efc question

<p>I dont know if anyone will know but im impatient so i am asking.</p>

<p>my family's efc is 18k but thats cause my mom works 2 full time jobs.</p>

<p>thats irrelevant but my question is the school i wanted to go to has a yearly cost (tuition+all) is about 35k</p>

<p>Now how does fafsa work? i know i dont qualify for pell grant but do i get any free money or just stafford loan+ work study</p>

<p>any ‘free’ money would come from the school you are going to. the only free money FAFSA qualifies you for is the Pell (and other) federal grants, but your efc is too high.</p>
