Final decision on business schools

Of these schools, pick 2-3 that you think I should apply to? I am thinking of going into a consulting route, and I am thinking of adding 2-3 more unis to my list, these are most definitely my REACHES. So how would you rank these in terms of recruitment, the program etc.

-Northwestern
-Chicago
-Dartmouth
-Duke
-Cornell
-Notre Dame
-Wash U in St. Louis

Chicago does not have a business school for UG, they have economics major. If you are good, you should apply to all, picking some would be totally depends on your taste. You should visit each one and choose the ones you like.

So I guess that all of these will get me into top consulting firms? Which ones would be easier to get into, since they are all prestigious in that field? All except for Chicago have business schools?

I believe that Tuck (Dartmouth) and Duke only have MBA programs in business (I’m guessing they have econ.) I’d suggest you spend some time on the school’s websites to be sure they have a program you want.

In terms of being a consulting feeder I’d rank them as follows:

-Dartmouth/ Duke
-Northwestern/ Chicago/ Cornell
-Notre Dame
-Wash U in St. Louis

I think (for example happy above) that people think you need to go to a BBA program to get a great business job, when in fact the opposite is true. Econ and social science majors from elite schools such as the Ivies often do much better than BBA majors (exception Wharton) at getting the top jobs.

Dartmouth, Northwestern, Duke

Chicago

Cornell, Notre Dame, Wash U in St. Louis

According to USN &WR’s [2012 top 10 undergraduate business programs preview](http://www.usnews.com/education/best-colleges/articles/2011/09/06/2012-best-colleges-preview-top-10-business-programs</a>), the list didn’t change a lot compared to last year, except that USC made it to the top 10.

USN&WR hasn’t released yet the relative rankings among the top 10 though (i.e. who comes first, second, and so on). We will probably have to wait until September 13 then.
