1. Harvard
 2. Yale
 3. Stanford
 4. UPenn-Wharton (ED)
 5. Cornell-AEM
 6. UChicago (EA)
 7. WashU (no supplement essays)
 8. NYU-Stern
 9. Emory-Goizueta OR Notre Dame-Mendoza OR UVA-McIntire (all are great programs but I don’t want to go beyond 15 schools, and I’m trying to figure out which school would give me the best shot at some form of merit scholarship)
 10. Carnegie Mellon-Tepper
 11. University of Rochester
 12. SUNYs-Bing&Geneseo

bump 10char

bump again for the last question?

bump for the last time…??? anybody?

I’m not sure about your list. I would eliminate some of the schools that have BBA programs but don’t place as well (example WashU) and replace them with schools that place much better into business and have better records of law placement (Northwestern for example). Business programs often don’t actually do that well at business placement, you’re better off with a more prestigious school as an econ major (Duke, Dartmouth, Columbia).

Geneseo and NYU grad here. I would keep Geneseo on the list.

This is a wonderful school…if you have any specific questions feel free to ask.

I agree that University of Rochester a match, definitely not a safety. SUNY Stony Brook and Binghamton are matches, as is SUNY Geneseo. I don’t see one true safety on your list-perhaps other SUNY schools such as Albany and Buffalo, but you might look at a school like University of Pittsburgh with rolling admissions so you might have an acceptance at a great school, one that offers merit money as well. Same might apply to a school like Case Western.

^ Sorry. With the OP’s stats the SUNYs are not matches but safeties.

@slipper1234…you bring up a good point. Olin at WashU was always on my list since it was an undergrad B school, but it doesn’t have the best placement. Are there any other schools on my list, with undergrad b schools, that are known not to have good placement? I’ve looked at the official grad reports but I don’t know if these tell the whole story…

@bookmama22…my mistake for calling UofRochester a safety. It’s a great school, but I suppose I just consider it a safety because I live in Rochester and plenty of grads from my school with much lower stats have gotten in…but it is #37 in the rankings and it has great programs so it’s not an easy acceptance school…on the other hand I’ve always thought that my SUNYs were safeties?

but my parents are willing and able to pay for any college I go to for undergrad, and they just wanted me to apply to some low match schools that might give me a scholarship, since there is certainly a chance that I could get rejected from many of the top tier schools on my list.

So…are NYU, URoch, those #9 schools, and the Sunys the schools that you’re hoping to get merit offers from?

I know NYU will not give me any merit aid…

U of Roch will cuz of my stats and the fact that I will likely be an NMF with my 229 PSAT score.

The SUNYs obviously cost less since I live in NY, but I might be able to get more scholarships…just based of scores/stats etc. I know Geneseo and Binghamton are competitive SUNYs so I’m not fully sure

At places like Emory/UVA/Notre Dame I’m applicable for some merit aid, though it will likely be very small since my stats are not that good
