I'm applying to 12 colleges.. here is my list:

Bates
St Lawerence (safety)
Reed
Wheaton (MA) (safety)
Wesleyan
Kenyon
Skidmore
Macalester
College of Wooster (safety)
Hamilton
Hartwick (safety)
Colby
Colorado College

Not in order yet, my huge reach and number one choice is Wesleyan, while my number one choice on a more realistic level is Colby.

I'm from NYC, have a 3.4 at a really competitive, well-known private school, a good amount of EC's- one in particular (service/charity work) that i have put A LOT of work into, 2020 on SAT

Don't just tell us to cross off schools. What do you want from college? If you explain that, we can help you by giving soem advice on which schools best suit what you're looking for.

As can be seen from her number of posts, this is a follow-up, meaningful to those who have followed her story. Have a look at the trail if you're interested.

well, ideally, you would pick the schools that best match your needs, whether you are likely to get into them or not. You should love all of the schools that you apply to. I'm not sure what you mean by "Should I pick better safeties?" You should try to find better schools if you can, of course! I mean, that's just common sense.

N.B. By "better," I do NOT mean more prestigious or more highly ranked or more selective, I mean better in terms of suiting what you are looking for in a college (level of competition among students, level of intellectualism, size, location, access to resources). Because INVOLVEMENT is key in a good college experience, as it is in high school, as it will be after schooling.

My daughter is also Hispanic and she attends Kenyon. If you are accepted to KC, go there! There is no better LAC in the nation. The only mistake you made was not applying ED. Good luck to you.
