Final Year Grades a problem?

Hey guys, I was admitted to Harvard RD and since then I have been working really hard to finish strong. Unfortunately, there have a few legitimate circumstances that have interrupted my work and made it difficult to do very well in a few classes. I just received my Final Year Grades from school and was wondering if they might warrant a “warning letter” or require an explanation.

Thanks for the help and sorry for posting about this again. I would just really like to ensure that I am on track for Harvard!

You’re on track. You know they ADMIT people with this as their GPA over four years, right?

C’c or D’s would warrant a warning letter, not a few B’s. You’re fine.

I’m not. I would just like to make sure that everything is on track and that I am still ok for next fall. I think its more just that, given the nature of high school thus far, seeing a few Bs as final grades can be somewhat unnerving.

Thanks everyone for all of the help!

I feel more concerned about the circumstances you allude to. Hope they are improving.

@compmom Yes, they are improving and, fortunately, won’t have an impact on my performance next year. Thanks for the help!

There are people who legitimately have scored B’s through their entire high school careers and have been admitted to the school. Honestly, this question is just offensive.

If anyone with a flat 3.0 was admitted to Harvard they must be a very unusual applicant.

Either way, not a cause for concern and certainly not an “offensive” question. 8-|

^^^ There is one H student in the class of '17 who had a HS GPA of 3.0. There are 21 with a 3.6 or below. I know kids who have gone there with a couple of Bs but an all B admit is unusual; about 1% of admits and certainly some other part of their application makes the tip for them.
