AP U.S. History
AP Lang
AP Statistics
AP Environmental Science
Honors Precalc
Honors German IV
Chemistry
Does this seem good for top 30 schools? Not going into STEM, so I thought APES was the best choice for my EC workload and not killing myself with work. I will have the standard bio, chem, physics req. I plan on going into political science. Thanks!
For all intents ad purpose, this schedule is
AP Lang
H Precalc
APUSH
H German 4
Chemistry
2 electives (both of which are rigorous). The electives don’t replace any core class and the five core classes form a “most rigorous” block, so the electives themselves don’t matter much. Could OP take Art or an extra social science instead? Sure, but it wouldn’t noticeably change the schedule’s validity. For a student who wants to major in PoliSci, Statistics makes sense, the schedule doesn’t preclude any senior year choices, and APES balances out the fact Chemistry is a regular class. So, all in all, it’s a very well-thought out schedule.
@bopper Because I want to? Also, the two classes that are AP are some of the only offered for me. The other options are Microeconomics (saving for senior year) and Computer Science, both of which are my last choices.
Looks pretty good! Does your school offer an honors chem or only AP and regular? Is this very rigorous in the context of your school? Aiming for the top 30 is great, just make sure you can handle the workload and balance it with other engagements, including extracurriculars and SAT or ACT prep.
@trumpetmathgeek You have to take Honors Chem in order to take AP Chem, and Honors Chem is notorious at my school. The class average (full of smart kids) is like an 82%.
@skieurope Do you think this is fine? I have all of my core subjects, and my electives are ones that I know I will enjoy and succeed in. AP Econ just wasn’t going to work out if I didn’t want to like lose my hair from stress. Thank you @MYOS1634!
