Finally....Narrowed down to 2 schools

<p>knicks08, ps: I've been told that a lot of engineering schools, particularly large state schools, really don't care if you succeed and in fact make it a semi-official "policy" I think to flunk out engineering students in the first two years. This is probably because in reality, they wouldn't have enough room in their upper-level programs if everybody passed! Even though I went to a state school myself, I was lucky in that they did not have this policy. The professors cared if you met them half-way and did your part. I'm not sure of course, but I'll bet that Polytechnic University is that way also, in that it is private and relatively small. Nothing will help an engineering student who is not willing to work, but take full advantage of profs. who are willing to help you succeed.</p>
