My daughter got accepted to Brown along with Columbia. When I saw the financial package, our contribution to attend Brown is 25K/yr more than Columbia. Does anybody know that Brown makes it comparable to Columbia’s offer? Or they generally do not change the offer.

I’m pretty sure it’s standard practice to use other ivies’ offers to leverage the one you really want to offer more aid.
You should contact financial aid to go over your numbers. Tell them you got a better package from Columbia and be prepared to let them see it. Brown often adjusts its numbers to match other schools.

HappyDad - Brown includes home equity, Columbia does not. This could be the difference in your offers. I’ve read in a few places that Brown will adjust their aid if you show them a better Ivy offer. Good luck!
