Hi! I will be applying to Northeastern Early Action in the fall. I have four siblings (three of whom will also be in college in the fall of 2016), and my financial situation isn’t the best. I’ve heard mixed things regarding financial aid at Northeastern. For someone with a 31 ACT composite and around a 3.9 / 4.0 GPA who plans on majoring in environmental science, what can I expect in terms of financial aid? Will I have to interview? I visited campus already and I fell in love with the school.
You or your parents need to run the NPC on the Northeastern website for an estimate.
Agree with TomSr. Best way to get an idea would be the NPC.
In my experience, financial aid worked out pretty well. To be fair, a lot of my need was met by merit scholarships, but financial aid gave me a grant for nearly the entire difference between the COA-scholarships and my EFC. This was last year (just finished freshman year at NU). This varies widely by person, but NU has been trying to improve their financial aid a lot and have been investing quite a bit of money lately.
