Anyone knows how generous is the FA at Dartmouth? If you CSS said 26,000 per year is our contribution, will Dartmouth give better FA than that?

I doubt it. Dartmouth has $100 million budget deficit because they briefly implemented a no loan policy. I believe they repealed the no loan policy this year.

The reintroduction of loans changes things for the class of '15 and beyond. It may add $10K-$30K over 4 years for those that have loans as part of their FA package. Meeting 100% of need is generous these day, but that is not likely to reduce the $26K expected of you by CCS. “Free money” = cost of attendance - (EFC + Loans). Dartmouth’s cost of attendance calculation is pretty reasonable for items such as travel, books, & personal expenses, although they undershoot for travel and overshoot for books.

I do think Dartmouth is generous in their treatment of outside scholarships. Try to get as much of that free money as you can.

Thanks Standrews! I hope they are generous.
