<p>Okay guys I am applying for Georgia Tech, UMich and Un.of Illinois. If I apply for financial aid for these Universities, will it hurt my chances of getting in?</p>
<p>Those are all public Us so I seriously doubt they are need aware and you will just be gapped with your FA. Hopefully you have great stats and can get some merit $ because public Us don’t offer good FA to OOS students (except UVA and UNC-CH).</p>
<p>You won’t be hurt because those schools aren’t need aware.</p>
<p>That said, if you’re OOS for those publics, don’t expect to receive much need-based aid. They charge high OOS rates for a reason. It wouldn’t make much sense for them to cover their high OOS rates with need-based aid. Right?</p>
<p>I see that you’re an int’l student. I don’t think ANY of those schools give aid (or much aid) to int’l students. If that is the case, and you can’t demonstrate that you can pay, then you may not be accepted since you won’t get a visa.</p>
